Lessons learned

The main lessons learned from this project were:

1. Real users face to face interviews.

Unfortunately i didn't have possibility to meet real users, so interviewed them online, which had many limitations. For instance, i could not have relaxed friendly talk due to time limitations. Or i could not see how they use webpage. My solution was to interview random people that i could meet in real life, and that gave me many useful insights, although they were not actual users of the site.

2. User flows.

If I had chance I would create more user flows (based on more interviews :-) )as it turned out to be super helpful tool for identifying pain points, specific user behavior, important features and details.

3. Communication with real test users.

This one is similar to the first point. Testings with real users were conducted by manager. Although i managed to set good cooperation between us, it was not as effective as i wished. So i conducted my own testings as well, with random users. If i had chance to speak to the real users, i believe i would get more insights and ideas to improve the design.

4. Time frame and dead-lines.

For this project i didn't set time frames due to my limitations. Also, i couldn't really set dead line for testings. All this impacted process dynamics and it's duration.

5. Designing UI without grids.

At the time I've been working on the project I didn't have any knowledge about grids and proper UI designing. So prototype was not 100% accurate. Of course, now I've learned how important and how much easier it is to build prototype using grids.
